We are growing and currently hiring professional subcontractors in a variety of home renovation trades.

(Each subcontractor hired must have the necessary tools to do the tasks associated with their trade. Matrix Construction MAY be able to lend specialty tools.)

Boiler Installer
Experience in residential steam and hot water boiler systems
-Certification a plus
-Install residential steam and hot water boiler systems
-Repair and maintain residential boiler systems
-Assemble and replace boiler parts
-Inspect assembled vessels/individual components
(such as tubes, fittings, valves, controls, auxiliary mechanisms for defects)
-Clean pressure vessel equipment
(using scrapers, wire brushes, and cleaning solvents)
-Bolt or arc-weld pressure vessel structure and parts together
(using wrenches and welding equipment)
-Read blueprints for location, position, and dimensions
-Necessary tools and equipment required
Cabinet Installer
Experience installing cabinets and countertops
-Assemble and install kitchen cabinets
-Install various types of countertops
(such as granite, quartz, Formica, and marble)
-Paint or stain cabinets
-Necessary tools required
Carpet Installer
Experience removing old carpet and installing new carpet
-Measure, cut and install new carpet
-Necessary tools required
Carpenter
Experience in both rough and finished carpentry
-Install and build framework, walls, stairs, floors, and closets
-Build window and door frames
-Fit and install trim, molding, and hardware
-Measure and calculate materials needed
-Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials
-Assemble and install furniture, cabinets, and shelves
-Ability to read blueprints
-Necessary tools required
Cleaner-Construction
Experience with Construction Clean-up
-Having a truck and ability to take debris to the dump is a plus
-Clean up construction area
-Knowledge of what material to keep and what can be discarded
-Ability to properly load a dumpster to utilize space
-Ability to organize material and tools during the clean-up.
Demolition Expert
Experience with Residential Demolition
-Demo walls (including load bearing walls)
-Demo kitchens and bathrooms
-Remove floor and wall tile
-Remove various types of flooring
-Remove wallpaper and mirrored walls
-Have the ability to Demo without damaging areas not being renovated
(including plumbing, electric, and HVAC)
-Necessary tools required
Drywall Installer
Experience hanging drywall
-Cut and hang drywall on walls and ceilings
-Tape and Spackle
-Have the ability to do patch and prep work
-Have the ability to work with plaster (20 min. and 45 min. powder)
-Compound walls and ceilings for a smooth finish
-Necessary tools required
Electrician
Experience in both rough and finished electrical
-Knowledgeable in service wires
-Knowledgeable in panel boxes
-Up to date with the current codes
-Necessary tools required
Fence Installer
Experience installing and repairing fencing
-Install various types of fencing
-Repair various types of fencing
-Install and repair gates
-Necessary tools and machinery required
Field Manager
Experience and Knowledge in residential construction
-Must have a truck or van
-Communicate effectively with all parties
(subs, designer, clients, inspectors, construction managers)
-Have the ability to ensure everyone understands all aspects of the project
-Travel to the job sites
-Take pictures of the property before, during, and after the renovation
-Inspect subcontractors’ work
Floor Installer
Experience installing various types of flooring
-Install various flooring systems
(hardwood, laminate, vinyl)
-Be knowledgeable in the different flooring systems’ installation methods
-Necessary tools required
Floor Refinisher
Experience refinishing hardwood floors
-Have experience sanding hardwood floors.
-Apply stain and/or sealer
-Necessary tools and machinery required
Handyman
Experience working with other trades
-Work with other trades doing some parts of those trades
-Install fixtures such as toilets, stoves, microwaves, refrigerators
-Be able to complete simples fixes to fixtures
(such as fixing a running toilet or dripping faucet)
-Install electrical switches and fixtures
-Do assembly as required
-Install vent covers, switchplates, and outlet covers
-Be capable of completing a punch list.

HVAC Expert
Experience in all aspects of HVAC
-HVAC Certification or EPA Certification is a plus.
-Install heating systems, cooling systems, and ventilation systems
-Repair/replace heating systems, cooling systems, and ventilation systems
-Connect gas lines to heating system/Refrigerant lines to cooling system
-Capable of installing and testing fuel lines
-Capable of performing startups
(setting gas pressure, adjusting air pressure, adjusting temperature rise)
-Wire low and high voltage to heating and cooling equipment
-Install and mount HVAC equipment components
(electronic controls, panels, devices, sensors)
-Install sheet metal and flex ducts for HVAC systems.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.

Insulation Expert
Experience removing and installing insulation
-Certification a plus
-Install various insulation materials
(such as fiberglass, cellulose, spray foam and injection foam)
-Experience in various installation methods
(such as blown-in, batts, spray foam, and injection foam)
-Provide recommendations and address air leakage and air sealing
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans
-Properly seal and air seal building envelope to improve energy efficiency
-Ability to provide technical support and troubleshoot insulation-related issues
(such as moisture problems and mold growth)
-Necessary tools and equipment needed.
Ironworker
Experience working with iron
-Fabricate and install iron interior and exterior stair railings and hand railings
-Fabricate and install exterior deck railings
-Fabricate and install metal decorative railings
-Have the ability of cut and weld metal into precise forms
-Necessary tools and equipment required
Laborer
Minimal experience in residential construction needed
-Willing to help with general tasks as needed
-Moving objects/construction material/tools as directed
-Removing construction debris/materials/tools as directed
-Work with subcontractors under their direct supervision
-Retrieving tools and materials for subcontractors as directed
-Willing to learn valuable residential construction skills
-This position involves doing physical labor at the construction site.
Mason/Bricklayer/Concrete
Experience in all types of masonry
-Have the ability to do complete concrete work
(such as driveways, sidewalks, patios, floors)
-Experience with foundations and footings
-Experience laying brick
(such as fireplaces, chimneys, walls, patios, walkways)
-Install patio and driveway pavers
-Have the ability to do various types of stone work.

Master Electrician
Licensed Professional Electrician
-Must have the ability to pull permits

-Prepare walls, ceiling, molding, doors, and shelves for painting

Plumber
Experience in both rough and finished plumbing
-Experience installing plumbing fixtures
(such as water heaters, sump pumps, radiators, sinks, garbage disposals toilets)

Experience with various types of roofs

Window Installer
Experience installing residential windows
-Have the ability to remove and install various types of residential windows

We Pay Subcontractors in Various Ways
Important to Note: By working with us you will be an Independent Contractor. You will not have an Employee/Employer Relationship with Matrix Construction.
The following details the various ways we pay Independent Contractors:
- Daily: Each day you will be responsible to complete a variety of tasks. You will be paid at the end of the day. This payment will be based on either an hourly or daily rate agreement.
- Weekly: If you would like to work with us on a more continuous basis, this option may be for you. You will be assigned daily, weekly, or monthly tasks and get paid at the end of each week worked. This payment will be based on either an hourly, daily, or weekly rate agreement.
- Per Trade: You will be assigned a particular trade based on your knowledge and expertise and be paid when the job is complete. For example, Electrical, Plumbing, or Tiling.
Please Note: We inspect the job prior to payment.
- Per Project: You will be assigned a complete project and be paid along the way as the project progresses.
For example, a complete bathroom renovation.
- Per House: Our last option is to assign you an entire house renovation or the majority of the work in the renovation. Since you will have plenty of work at the same location, you will have the ability to leave your tools in one place as well as having a sense of accomplishment each day as you work toward completing the project. With this option, you will be required to meet predetermined deadlines. You will have an agreement with us and, as per the terms of the agreement and the progress made, you will be paid.
Please Note: We NEVER give upfront deposits or allow front loading of a job.

You will have access to Construction Managers who have design, engineering, and architectural backgrounds. Our team will happily provide you with technical advice, training, step-outs, and how-to videos as needed.
